Here you will find all of our bongs and water pipes in the ever-popular beaker style. Beaker bongs have the advantage of a larger water reservoir, which means more water can be used to achieve greater levels of filtration. Because there is typically more water in a beaker bong, the water tends to stay cleaner for longer so they require less regular cleaning. Additionally, the weight of water in the beaker base helps to stabilise the bong and help guard against knocking it over. As you would expect from the world’s largest headshop, we stock a vast range of beaker bongs such as Hitman 12 Inch Beaker Bong, Mathematix 14 Inch Beaker Bong, Grace Glass 12 Inch Beaker Bong and many more...
Beaker Bongs
Whether you’re a regular bong user or a beginner, choosing the perfect bong from a plethora of options can be daunting. Once you’ve decided which material is best for you, be it glass, ceramic, acrylic, or silicone, and if you want any extra features like an ice catcher or percolator, you also need need to choose which size of bong you desire - a larger one ideal for home use, or a mini bong that you can take with you on the go.
Once you’ve decided all of this, you will then have another decision to make - the shape. The vast majority of regular bongs can be divided into two categories - straight tube bongs and beaker base bongs. But what are these, exactly?
While straight tube bongs are, unsurprisingly, straight, and look much like you’d expect a bong to look like, beaker base bongs are shaped like a... you guessed it, a beaker. While they’re less common than straight bongs, they’re designed to produce better hits and are fast gaining popularity.
Here at Everyone Does It, we stock a wide range of beaker base bongs, including the Themed Perc Beaker Bong, the Starship Bong by Snoop Dogg, and the Saxo Triple Recycler Bong.
What is a beaker bong?
A beaker bong refers to any type of bong that is shaped like a beaker - that is, the beakers that are typically used in laboratories, just like the ones we all used in science class. They typically have a wide base which then thins as it moves upwards towards the bong neck. This sets them apart from straight tube bongs, which are usually the same or similar width from the base all the way up to the mouthpiece.
Beaker bongs are typically made of glass, although some models are also available in acrylic or silicone.
Should I get a beaker base bong?
Choosing between a beaker bong and a straight tube bong will ultimately come down to your personal choice, but before making that decision, you should be aware of the pros and cons of each. Let’s take a look at some of the advantages and disadvantages of using beaker base bongs:
Pros of beaker bongs
Their large water chambers means that the smoke has more water to travel through than straight tube bongs. As the water in a bong acts as a filter, this means that beaker bongs can provide an overall cooler and cleaner hit to the lungs.
- Their wide base also means they’re more suited for home use on your tabletop, and are less likely to get knocked over and break than a straight glass bong.
- They also tend to have a narrower neck than straight tube bongs, which means you’re less likely to end up with a mouthful of bong water.
- Many beaker base bongs come with ice catchers or percolators, which act as an extra filter on top of the water, providing an even smoother hit.
- They tend to be easier to clean than straight tube bongs, plus the fact that the water chamber is bigger means that you can change the water less frequently.
Cons of beaker bongs
- It can be slightly more difficult to get the perfect hit with a beaker bong, as the larger water chamber means that the bubbles can get a bit out of hand, producing a harsher or bigger-than-expected hit.
- It can also be more tricky to get the full hit each time as the shape of the bong means that some smoke may be trapped near the base of the bong.
- Beaker base bongs are usually glass bongs, and although that produces better flavour than acrylic or silicone, they are more likely to be damaged or smash into pieces if you drop it.
Which type of beaker bong should I get?
If you’ve decided that beaker base bong is for you, it’s now time to decide which type of beaker bong you want. Most are made with glass, although some are available in other materials, while many also come with extra features that improve the quality of your smoke. Here are some of the types of beaker bong that you can buy here at EDIT:
- Glass beaker bongs: These are typically made of borosilicate glass, and are the norm for beaker base bongs. However, they tend to be more expensive than other types of bong, especially if you go for a model with thicker, sturdier glass.
- Plastic beaker bongs: These can either be acrylic or silicone bongs, with the maid advantages being that they’re more indestructible than glass bongs, they’re invariably cheaper, plus they come in a wide range of bright colours.
- Percolator beaker bongs: Many beaker bongs come with a percolator, which acts as a filter and is designed to give you the best possible smoking experiences. There are many different types of percolator bongs, from tree percolators to honeycomb bongs.
- Ice beaker bongs: Many beaker base bongs include an ice catcher, which you can place ice cubes on to in order to cool down and filter your smoke. It also acts as an extra buffer between the water chamber and your lips, preventing any potential splashback.
