If you like the traditional method of smoking a pipe, then one of the best materials for your next pipe would most definitely be glass. Here at Everyone Does It, we stock a huge range of glass pipes that come in all shapes and sizes.
Glass pipes are available sort of colours and styles, and they look great sitting on your mantelpiece. All of the best glass pipes will be made of highly-durable borosilicate glass, which means they should be able to withstand extremely high temperatures, as well as a few drops on the floor.
What is a glass pipe?
Glass smoking pipes are regular tobacco pipes that are made out of glass. They are different to other popular smoking instruments such as bubblers, bongs, dab rigs, and vaporizers.
Glass pipes are used to smoke dry herbs or tobacco, and typically consist of a bowl, stem, and mouthpiece all within the body itself. They are usually very small and portable devices, much smaller than bongs and vaporizers, so are great for people who like to smoke on the go.
Types of glass pipe
Here at EDIT, we stock a huge range of glass smoking pipes. They come in many different styles, all with their own unique benefits, so you should get to know the differences between them before committing to a purchase:
- Sherlock pipes: Named after the iconic Baker Street resident, Sherlock glass pipes look very similar to what the fictional detective used to smoke his tobacco. These pipes have a flat base, meaning you can place them on a flat surface while you pack your herbs without worrying about it tipping over.
- Spoon pipes: Resembling the classic kitchen utensil, spoon glass pipes have a wide bowl for tobacco and dry herbs, which then thins down to a very narrow mouthpiece.
- Dugout pipes: Also known as a cigarette bat, these glass pipes are shaped like a traditional cigarette, but are comprised of two compartments - a one hitter and a storage chamber.
- Chillum pipes: Straight and cone-shaped, these traditional smoking pipes are more commonly found in materials like wood and ceramic, but there are also some glass chillum pipes available.
- One hitter pipes: These small glass pipes look like a glass cigarette, but can pack enough punch in their bowl for you to feel the full effects of your dry herbs after just one hit. They are similar to glass dugout pipes, but without the storage compartment.
- Steamroller pipes: These are typically the largest type of glass pipe, although still smaller than most bubblers. They have especially large bowls so are designed for regular smokers and big hitters.
